Oman Sail A100
A proud day for Oman as the Arabian 100 trimaran touches water for the very first time in Salalah port. A team of up to 30 international and Omani boat builders and specialists have worked on her at any one time and the result is this phenomenal racing craft which is sure to be making headlines soon.
Oman Sail’s new trimaran moves one step closer to being launched after it was wheeled out of the boat shed yesterday in Oman. A new flagship for Arabia, this new 105 foot trimaran, known as an Arabian 100 (A100), was built by Boat Speed in Australia before the components were shipped to Oman for assembly in the southern most port of Salalah in May.
The A100 joins the Oman Sail fleet as a training boat to help further the development of the Oman Sail academy and inspire the Omani youth to further their potential to achieve and push boundaries. Designed by Nigel Irons, it will be skippered by Paul Standbridge and will now undergo sea- trials before its first voyage up the Omani coast to the captial Muscat, after Ramadan, for its naming ceremony.

Grapefruit Graphics were responsible for branding the Hulls and mast in Salalah in August, just a week before the boat rolled out of the shed. A team of 3 from Grapefruit spent 7 days in Salalah with 5 days working on the boat. This job had special significance for one of the team members as the A100 was put together and branded in the very same shed that his father built the Sultan of Oman’s Dow over 23 years previously.
Grapefruit Graphics are proud to be associated with the Oman Sail project and wish the team every sucess for the future.
